About

Welcome. Glad you're here.

I am passionate about helping clients find the awareness, insight, and resilience to live a joyful, meaningful, and fulfilling life. I respect that you are the expert of your life experience and my role as a therapist is to provide a safe and challenging environment for clients to increase their awareness, identify patterns, beliefs, and make changes. INIDIVIDUALS My approach to therapy is holistic and strengths-based and comes from a systems perspective. I use EMDR, attachment theory, mindfulness, somatic processing, EFT, CBT, DBT and neuroscience. I help individuals overcome issues from their past that may interfere with their present. EMDR INTENSIVES: Weekend/Weekday As an alternative to weekly, on-going therapy, I offer 6-8 hour intensives which are short term, and focused occurring over a couple of days. It helps people journey deeper and feel better faster. The intensive appointment length allows you to end your session at a much lower level of distress and with potentially fewer side effects following your treatment session, compared to a series of weekly appointments. You can attend an EMDR intensive as an adjunct to your counseling and then continue your work with your original therapist. COUPLES My goal is to help you achieve a deeper connection. We work towards getting to the root cause of problems, learn strategies and gain understanding to break through gridlock, achieve intimacy and move forward toward your specific goals. Using the Gottman Method and EFT I help couples improve their communication skills, manage conflict, and strengthen their love and relationship. WHAT I BRING I have a PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision, and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have lead traumatic brain injury groups, worked with medical interdisciplinary groups and speak nationally about best practices for resolving trauma and PTSD, anxiety and building the therapeutic alliance. I have extensive training in EMDR (Level 1 & 2, first responders, working with children, spirituality, recent event protocols, dissociation), Polyvagal theory based on the neurological and physiological implications of trauma and our emotions. Working with couples I have completed Gottman trainings Level 1 & 2, human sexuality, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, NLP and Adlerian parenting. I am an active member and presenter at the American Counseling Association, the International Association for Trauma and Resilience, the Washington State Counseling Association, and the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology. INSURANCE AND FEES I accept Private Pay, Premera or I can provide you with a “super-bill" so you may apply for provider out of network reimbursement. Please contact me for more information.
